The Sweetless Latte

The frothy-creamy rich coffee
Filled with milky white and caffine.
Ordered a large size ceramic pot
And waited for the yummy Caffè.

Prepaid the order and waited in sofa.
Does time always moves slowly?
The cosy cushion refixes the position
Yet, Latte arrived an hour later.

Delivery executive moves forward,
With his black hat with an ‘M’ in it.
His unusual smile with shaky hands
Trembled my greedy desire to have it.

He delivered the black clay cup,
The unusual sugar sprinkles alerted.
The heart with colourful sugar!
Sipped the top froth, in doubt.

Sugar granules kills the taste buds,
Following bitter slurp dripping tears.
The waiter announced “it’s sugarless”
In panick I said”But I ordered Latte”.

Black hats lined as army as witnesses
I repeated “Sorry, But I Ordered Latte”
Prolonged pause broke my serenity,
They cautiously gazed one another.

I repeated my comment assertively,
“Excuse me, BUT I HAVE ORDERED LATTE”
Doubting my sanity I explained further,
“The Italian Caffè latte”, with milk froth.

Explained “espresso with steamed milk”
Suggested “you’ve forgotten to add Sugar!
Please get me another cup with sugar.
And straine the colourful sugar candies”.
The black hats stared at me pathetically.

Fitting my top new t-shirt I suggested:
“Else give me two sachets of sugar”
I helplessly stared at them in despair,
Wish it was a dream that vanish.

The prolonged pause in silence ended,
Reassuring reality of events and my sanity.
They unanimous reply shrinked eyebrows
And said: “Sorry, we are out of sugar”. -Avan
